  3. This is a lovely portrait Blaga. Yes, you do look as though you're really concentrating as Judy said. I can't do portraits, but even if I could, I'd avoid a self portrait lol! Thanks for sharing the steps with us too :)

  4. Wow Blaga this is so good , I immediately recognized you when I saw you on the sidebar! The light you kept is REALLY great! I suppose you were looking at yourself in the mirror while painting, you seem so concentrated :-)

  9. This is amazing! You've brought deep expression and
a lot of life to your self portrait. I can only echo to
what everyone else has already said. Wonderful painting!

  11. Thank you, Judy! Yes, concentrated - trying to paint your own face isn't easy ;)

    Thank you, Carol!

Thank you, Michael! Only a couple of months ago I thought I couldn't possibly paint portraits. But I thought I'd try some day. When I dare to try, it proved to be so much fun!

Thank you, Jane! I like the light too. Maybe I over-did some wrinkles in my attempt to be realistic, and that emphasized that concentrated and a bit gloomy expression :)

  12. Thank you, Lydie, I'm glad you like it!

Jane Minter, thank you so much for your encouragement! I did overwork some spots, but it's part of learning...

    Grazie mille, Tito!

Merci Isabelle! Je trouve que le dessin est la partie la plus difficile et importante de la peinture d'un bon portrait.

  13. Thank you for the nice comment, Gordon! You don't say anything about likeness ;) Yes, making it look real and alive was my first goal.

He-he, Cathy, no I am not off the landscapes. Just taking a break :) As I wrote to Isabelle, I find that drawing the face is the difficult part. Then applying the colors is so much fun! Thank you, for your comment!
