I'm glad to welcome you here, Albert! I know what mean, the first sketch is too blue. I did that with pan colors, and didn't have much time to mix them, so I used mostly ultramarine. In these two, painted inside with tube colors, I mixed Ultramarine and Quin. Violet (Alizarin) which produced hues much closer to the original. Thank you for visiting!
Lydie and Judy, I know you both love flowers and I'm glad you liked these.
Non è facile dipingere gli iris. Tu l'hai fatto molto bene. Brava. Elvi
ReplyDeleteMuch better this one than the former. I guess you have used more ultramarine blue instead of cobalt, am I right? Very nice blog, I'll follow you.
ReplyDeleteBlagga, it's beautiful, there's volume and high accuracy in the first. A bit like a botanical plate. We feel your interest in these little flowers.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful flowers, very beautifully painted! No more snow for you, enjoy springtime!
ReplyDeleteGrazie, Elvi, mi piace dipingere fiori.
