Thank you, Polly! The sea is difficult to paint from live, because it constantly moves and changes. From photo it is easier, but both are also fun.

Thank you, Jane! I painted both quite fast and wasn't going for realistic details, but when you put the right values it just comes out that way by itself :)
Thank you, Tito and Rita! I really enjoyed painting these sea scenes and am glad that managed to paint the two different moods with the same limited palette. Your words are very nice, Rita, although I wish I had the lightness of yours or Tito's techniques :) I'd call this "my healthy dissatisfaction" which should make me develop further.
Hi, Blaga, First of all, congrats on your good work. Not easy to capture waves. I always sketch a sea from live. My tips are 1)watch it closely & patiently = find a pattern 2)choose colours well 3)set dynamic scene. Light(weather)changes waves's colour. Best wishes, Sadami
Dear Blaga your bouquet of tulips is spectacular!!!You have paint directly with great skill! I also often photographing my direct work on the wet, I wondered why I liked it better before than after ... To this question I have found a possible answer,for me, when I noticed the work of Jane Minter( in her blog that illustrates the various steps of direct techniques) a possible solution. My new insight is that background that I have the tendency to paint at last, maybe ,as Jane, should be done first and built to that the true subject,on the background, seems a gem in the jewel. What do you think about? Happy painting,Rita.
