West Brook Pond

West Brook Pond, Gros Morne Park, NL
West Brook Pond is a former fjord, which has been separated from the sea by a strip of land. Now it is a fresh water lake. The lake is practically at sea level and the steep mountains surrounding it reach up to 700 m. The only way to see it is a boat tour and on a clear sunny day the view is awesome. They say, if you have time to do only one thing in Gros Morne, take this boat tour.

gorgeous, wish I had a boat to see what is around the bend!

Thank you, Judy! We took the morning tour and the light was still horizontal, creating nice contrasts.

Thank you, Lydie! Yes, the trip was wonderful, the weather unexpectedly so too.

Thank you, Maria! The view was really gorgeous and I'm glad if I managed to convey it to some extent. It was just as beautiful around the bend, the lake is 16 km long and the tour was worth every minute of its two hours.

Looks so refreshing. I am very interested how you paint water. Well done!

This is amazing! I don't just mean the landscape itself because it is but the wonderful job you did with the painting. This is for sure on my favourite list :)

Thank you, Irina! I usually paint the water wet-in-wet, but this time wet-on-dry with two glazes made more sense.

Thank you, Ha! It was an amazing view and I'm glad it turned out so well
