Painting my mood

Normally, painting takes my mind away from work. It is an activity quite opposite to my technical profession and helps me keep a balance. Yet, when the stress from office politics and nonsense at work passes a certain level, I loose any desire to paint. Not having painted for days then depresses me more, and the vicious circle feeds itself.
Last weekend I tried to force myself to grab the brushes and I ended up going overboard with squiggling and splatters, producing the crazy flower above. Didn't feel any better though. You can't force a peace of mind.

Finally today I managed to do some productive work and with that came the desire to put paint on paper...
And there is so much to catch up with in blog-space!

Probably it was the flower which helped you reach the second work. Both are fabulous. Keep going.

The flower has a great force about it..like something urgent really had to come down on paper, I would say 'an urgent beauty', and the bird is the calmness after the storm, both beautiful!

I like Jane's comment 'an urgent beauty'. :) The experience of painting the crazy flower has made the second one possible. The parrot is beautiful!

Hello,Blaga!
It happens for any reason to leave the brushes!
When I beginning to paint, after the pause, play with color without thinking of anything (such as art therapy). Then everything returns to norm. You have a special touch to paint parrots! And crazy flowers has The Power of Freedom!

Thank you, Lynn! Well, the state of mind will depend on how things go at work. I've got to learn to leave those problems behind when I go home, but it's not easy to do...

I'm glad you like them Asit, i wasn't particularly sure about either... Thank you!

I like that name, Jane, and love your sense of humour! Thank you!

Thank you, Judy!

Funny you say that Rita, I was thinking of doing just washes. Well, that flower is kind of layered washes with a bit of frustrations as a seasoning :) Thank you for your nice words!

Hello Blaga:) I agree what Tito says. You did a good job by putting your state of mind on paper. Great job on both of them!

Ha-ha, Tito, if this flower represents my inner life, then I should not call it crazy ;) I know what you are saying and I'm very glad that you like the painting!

Thank you, Renate!

Inspiration and motivation are such complex things... it's difficult. I'm glad you got into the painting zone in the end. Lovely work!

I hope you feel better. There is a few of Fabio Cembranelli in the composition of your flower. Very good for in my point of view. The parrot seems to have some serenity

I like this "crazy" flower and I am sorry it did not help.
You describe the situation so precisely, I feel the same. But still, painting is the way out of stress, together with yoga.
