Memories from past vacations

Near Monterey, California

Tulum, Mexico
I felt like painting seascapes today, so I picked two old vacation photos. I used only three colors for both - alizarin crimson, prussian blue and indian yellow. They seem like a great trio for landscapes.

Thank you, Carlos and Jane, so kind of you to leave a comment! I find that the limited palette (surprisingly) makes painting faster and at this stage lets me learn a lot about colors.

I love your work - the light, the colors and composition are wonderful --pretty impressive that you started painting only in 2009!

Thank you, Brigitte!

Thank you, Meera! your words are very encouraging.

These are both lovely watercolours Blaga. Excellent washes and dry brush work, a skillful use of mixing from a limited palette and you have a style developing already - after two years that's very impressive :)
