New year, new hope

Apples, acrylic 20 x 15 cm
Apples, watercolor 38 x 28 cm
 Happy New Year to everyone!

Although, we know that the start of the new year is kind of arbitrary, every year we mark this date with a hope for a new beginning. I truly hope that 2016 will be much better than the past one, which I was very glad to see off.

Hi, Blaga, what wonderful paintings they are! I almost tried to bite the apples. Your nude is wonderful. Just have fun. I believe a person will find a way, while making messes. Best wishes, Sadami

You are starting off the new year beautifully , lovely apples with great shine, and your nudes are excellent ! I would add' fierce' to the bulgarian song :-) Wishing you a wonderful 2016 !

Hi, Sadami, thank you for your comments. We do learn way more from messes than from the neat attempts. I learned that rough paper is the enemy of fresh skin tones :)

Thank you, Jane! I think you got my meaning and I like your edit. I hope we all have a very self-affirming year!

Wow, love the apples, they look delicious, but the figures are fabulous! A self affirming year sounds great, I'll sign for it!

Dear Blaga, I always smooth papers and do not use roughs. I tried rough and did not get used to it. In life drawing class, interestingly, many participants used rough (only a few used smooth?). I assume it depnds on each one's taste and style. Best wishes, Sadami
