Glass objects

I've been planning to examine painting transparent objects - glasses, bottles, etc, and now seemed like the perfect time to capture the "spirit" of the season. I was also inspired by Olivia's recent series of beautiful paintings of bottles. My results are far not as free and exciting as hers, but I believe that I have to get familiar with an object before I can simplify it and paint it loosely. So, it is a first step.
Cheers!

Such a great job on the glass in these paintings, these are beautiful, especially like the bottom painting and the blue background with the red wine.

Bottles and jars are another of my favorite subjects, and I love the transparency of these, not loose but beautiful none the less! The colors are magnifique, you just know it is cognac and red wine by the look of the color! Wish you a great day. xx

Thank you, Maria! It was a good exercise. I didn't imagine there are so many colors and nuances in a glass of wine.

I love your jars and vases, Jane, and your completely loose, painterly approach to them. I used quinacridone gold for the cognac and was amazed what a deep color that is, with a very wide range of values - yummy!

Cin cin, Floriana! I cannot speak or write Italian, but had ample exposure to Italian songs and movies while growing up. That, together with the similarity with French, helps me understand simple expressions. For the rest, there are dictionaries and Google. So, feel free to write in Italian, I like the challenge.
Thank you, for your nice comment, and let's hope that the new year brings more luck and happiness than we expected!

Thank you, Brigitte! I'm glad you like them.

Hi Blaga, in my opinion, both are really well done, colors are splendid and the transparency of the glass is perfect. The right subject for this period of year ending.....so, I wish you a Fantastic New Year!! Ciao!
