Crossing the bridge

Bridge in Vancouver, Arches paper 40 x 30 cm
This is based on a friend's photo, taken while crossing one of Vancouver's bridges on a motorcycle. The fused colors of the evening lights and reflections seemed perfect for a watercolor. I did it in three washes. Maybe if I could have finished in less washes the colors would have been fresher, but I'm not unhappy with the result.

Dear Blaga,
I admire your challenge spirit. In my eyes, it's not an easy subject. Colours are so beautiful. Weldone. Enjoy watercolour and keep up!
Best wishes, Sadami

Thank you, Sharon! It turned out somewhat lighter than I wanted. I need more courage to use stronger colors when working wet-in-wet - I know they will dry lighter, but I'm still afraid :)

I'm glad you like it Judy! I'm discovering how interesting it is to observe the reflections and shapes on the road at dusk - so many colors and shapes. Especially if it is wet...

Thank you, Rita! I was a little hesitant about this big red spot almost in the middle of the scene, but I think it fits with the surrounding colors, after all.

I am glad that this brought good memories, Floriana, and thank you for your nice comment!

Thank you, Tito! It is a scene where perspective is easy :)

Thank you, Sadami! You are right, it wasn't an easy subject and the trick was to wait for each wash to dry completely (which I was forced to do this time, as I had only short intervals of time over several evenings :)

Love the way the flow of colors show movement on the bridge.

J'aime la limpidité du ciel qui contraste avec les couleurs du pont. Une trés belle atmosphère nocturne dans ton aquarelle, tes lavis permettent aussi de sentir le mouvement. Félicitations .

I love the clarity of the sky contrasting with the color of the bridge. A very nice night atmosphere in your watercolor, your washes allow us to feel the movement. Congratulations.

Hello Blaga:) Your "moving"paintings are always beautiful. I think the colors shouldn't be fresher because it's evening. In my opion they are great. Very nicely done:) Love the depth in the painting.
