Indian summer and outdoors sketching

At the cafe, live sketch, 23 x 18 cm
Last weekend was nice and warm, Indian Summer or Gypsy Summer type of weather. Great time to ride my new bike, after an almost thirty years break. It is true that this is something you never forget. I realize now what a perfect means of transportation the bicycle is for painting en plein air. Well, it may be a bit late for that this year already, but I can make plans and dream for next year's warm season...

Here the Indian Summer is San Martino Summer ... which is around 11 November(san Martino day)!Sweet and touching moment!
Those days it is as the heat greeted us, then falls on the dark, cold and frost.
Watercolors that you painted recall precisely these feelings:well done, Blaga!.

We call Indian summer an old maids summer! :) In Holland almost everyone rides a bike, and since I don't own a car I do everything per bike (except long distances :) ), whatever the weather! Enjoy the sunshine, Blaga, lovely paintings!

Hi Blaga, me too I like riding my bike, particularly in this season and in spring. But I have never thought to use the bike to find a place for plein air painting. It's a good idea that I must consider.
Your three watercolors are beautiful, I like particularly the sky of the last one, really fantastic! Ciao!

I am glad your weather does not disturb your bike mood. Great idea to use bike for plein air! Old maids summer we call it here, same as Judy in Holland.

Love biking but in India it can get really hot humid and dusty. Here the summers can be really miserable. You are lucky to have nice sunny enjoyable 'Indian summers'! Great work. Enjoy.

Friends, thank you all for your visit and for your comments! I was surprised to learn about all the different names used around the world for those wormer days of autumn. And it is very interesting to think how each of them came to be.
Have all a great week and enjoy painting!

Hello Blaga:) The whole day long we had rain over here:( Your lovely sketches did forget the rain for a while. They are with a lot of summer spirit and I can see you enjoyed making them. Very nice Blaga:)
