Still dreaming of summer...

Sea and sand 1, watercolor on Fabriano Artistico, 38 x 28 cm
Sea and sand 2, watercolor on Fabriano Artistico, 38 x 28 cm
It snowed all day yesterday. The commute to work and back was a torture. The snow banks are now so high, if it snows again, there will be nowhere to pile the white stuff.
I keep dreaming of hot summer days. Playing with these washes, trying to figure out how to depict, in the simplest way, the turquoise and emerald color transitions of the sea, then merging into the warm hues of the sand. Maybe it's time to make my dreams come true...

Ciao Blaga,
To find the right colours is always a big problem and a lot of times are not as we want!
But I think that you have found the colours you are looking for and the results are beatiful!
I have a palette with a lot of colours and as I like to paint immediately without too much esitations, the colours decides for me...the first I find
Ciao, ciao, abbracci, Floriana

Two beautiful summer-scenes with wonderful fresh and bright colors. Is all that snow unusual or is it just like every winter ?

Thank you, Floriana! I usually try to use less colors to keep the painting simpler, but this seascape required quite a variety - viridian, cerulean, cool yellow, warm yellow, ocher and red.

Thank you, Polly! I have a plan...

Gracias, Mercedes! Dos meses más a la primavera para nosotros aquí.

Gracias, Beatriz! Estoy tratando de mantener una actitud positiva :)

Thank you, Jane! This is definitely the coldest and snowiest winter here for the last two decades. It is getting too much for a heat-loving creature like me :)
